About

Grounded, plain-language support

Photo of Brett Harris

I’m Brett Harris, a Psychologist based in Canberra. I work with adults facing anxiety, stress, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, trauma and the kind of life transitions that can leave you feeling unsteady, bringing a calm and practical approach that’s grounded in evidence and explained in plain, everyday language.

I also work with adolescents and children, including therapy for anxiety, low mood, self-esteem and trauma in the teenage years, and undertake developmental, cognitive and autism assessments for both children and adults.

I didn’t start out as a psychologist. Before this, I spent several years working as a lawyer and across social policy — close enough to the system to see how much people are carrying, and how rarely they get the chance to just be heard. That’s what I try to bring into the room now: plain language, real listening, and a steady, practical way of working through what’s actually going on.
